Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from customers about ferrite motor magnet tiles — specifications, grades, and applications.
Q1.What is a ferrite motor magnet tile, and how is it different from a magnet ring or rare-earth magnet?
A ferrite motor magnet tile is a curved/arc permanent magnet made of strontium ferrite (SrFe₁₂O₁₉), mounted on the motor rotor. It is a different product from a speaker ring magnet. Compared with rare-earth magnets such as NdFeB, ferrite is lower cost, corrosion-resistant, and has a steeper demagnetization curve — ideal for high-volume appliance and industrial motors.
Q2.Which ferrite grades are commonly used for motor magnet tiles, and how do I choose?
Common grades: Y10T, Y30, Y30H-1, Y30H-2, Y32H-1/2, Y33, Y33H, Y35, Y35H, Y38H, Y40H. For home-appliance and pump motors, Y30–Y35 are typical. For high-coercivity needs (high temperature, strong demagnetization), choose the Y30H series or Y35H. EV drive motors usually require Br≥420mT and Hcj≥350kA/m, corresponding to Y35H / Y38H / Y40H.
Q3.What is the difference between a rotor (motor) magnet tile and a stator magnet tile?
Both belong to the ferrite motor magnet tile family. Rotor magnet tiles are attached to the rotor to provide the main field; stator magnet tiles (stator magnet tile) are used on the stator side of certain outer-rotor or special structures. Shape, magnetization direction, and tolerance differ and must follow the motor design drawing.
Q4.Do you support custom shapes and sizes? What is the MOQ?
Yes. With 300+ mold sets, we customize arc, tile, and other special shapes, and provide magnetic-circuit simulation and mold design. MOQ is flexible per grade; exact MOQ and lead time depend on specification and quantity. Send us your drawing or sample for customization.
Q5.What is the operating temperature range of ferrite magnet tiles? Are they high-temperature resistant?
Typical operating range is -40°C to +250°C, with a Curie temperature around 450°C. High-coercivity grades (Y35H, Y38H, Y40H) show lower demagnetization risk at high temperature, suitable for EV and industrial servo motors.
Q6.What certifications do you hold and what is the typical lead time?
We are certified to ISO9001 and RoHS. Sample lead time is short; mass production is scheduled by order and capacity, with an annual capacity of 8,000 tons to reliably meet high-volume demand.
